Student Organization Constitution Template

ARTICLE I: NAME
The name of this organization shall be [name of organization], hereafter referred to as [shortened name of organization, perhaps an acronym, as it will appear throughout the constitution [optional].

ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
The purpose(s) of this organization shall be: [Please list the purpose for establishing this organization]

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
(Indicate who is eligible for membership in your student organization. 75% (100% for sports/recreation clubs, fraternities and sororities) of an organization’s members must be UNM students. A membership statement can not require individuals or a specified group of students to be members of your organization. Your organizations membership requirements can not conflict with the following statement. Neither membership in this student organization, nor services provided by this student organization will be denied to anyone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, physical or mental handicap, age, sex, sexual preference, ancestry, or medical condition.) ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
