The Student Activities Center is a great place for you to learn about the many exciting out-of-the-classroom possibilities available at UNM. Opportunities range from student government and concert promotion to community service and leadership development. No matter what your interests are, there is a way for you to get involved—and we can help!
Involvement is a key to your success at UNM. Enhancing your coursework with out-of-the-classroom experiences will enable you to meet new people, get better grades, graduate on time, and be more marketable to potential employers.
There are a countless number of ways for you to get involved. Here are a few. UNM has over 400 student organizations in the following categories: academic, cultural, honorary, military, political, religious, service, sports, and fraternities and sororities. For the artistically inclined there are choirs, bands and symphonies or event a flamenco dance group. Many students join intramural sports teams and recreation programs. Others work on the student newspaper or spend a semester on international or national exchange. Opportunities for volunteering on or off-campus are abundant.
